We’re currently seeking a Warehouse Operator to contribute to our success in the Normet Africa region, stationed at Limpopo, Venetia VMI, South Africa.
Position Overview: As a Warehouse Operator at Normet, you will be an integral part of the Africa region, managing customer service, inventory planning, and logistics for South Africa, Zambia, DRC, and beyond. Responsibilities:
- Implement 5S and housekeeping practices, emphasizing safety and maintenance tasks.
- Utilize forklifts for efficient offloading of deliveries.
- Thoroughly check deliveries for accuracy, including Local, Sea, and Air Freight.
- Perform goods receiving tasks, ensuring accurate stock entries into the system.
- Organize and place stock in designated storage locations.
- Execute stock picking for orders with precision.
- Conduct cycle counting and maintain storage bins.
- Generate necessary documentation for deliveries.
- Load vehicles for dispatch.
Requirements:
- Matric/Grade 12 qualification and a valid driver’s license.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with a solid understanding of Safety and Warehouse operations.
- Strong organizational skills within an operational environment.
- Customer-oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication and active listening skills.
- Embrace a safety and caring culture mindset.
- Demonstrate continuous improvement and innovation.
- Positive “can-do” attitude and a team player.
Performance Metrics:
- Measure performance through indicators such as Lost Time Incidents (LTI), near misses, reporting.
- Evaluate Dock to Stock lead time.
- Monitor Warehouse accuracy.
- Track Supply Rate Gap.
- Implement and maintain 5S and other safety measures.
