Job Overview: As a Team Assistant in Legal & Corporate Affairs, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless functioning of the department. From managing appointments to handling travel arrangements, organizing events, and maintaining effective communication channels, you’ll be at the heart of our commitment to excellence. Here’s an in-depth look at what the role entails:

Responsibilities:

  1. Comprehensive Administrative Support:
    • Provide secretarial and administrative services to the General Counsel.
    • Manage diaries, arrange meetings, handle travel bookings, and coordinate events.
    • Liaise with Information Management (IM) to support IT needs.
    • Prepare, format, and proofread various documents.
  2. Communication and Collaboration:
    • Maintain regular communication with the General Counsel’s direct report.
    • Act as a liaison with internal departments and external stakeholders.
    • Support the preparation of documents, presentations, and meeting minutes.
  3. Calendar Management and Travel Support:
    • Manage calendars and monitor deadlines for legal processes.
    • Coordinate travel arrangements and assist with team member’s expenses.
  4. Integration and Support:
    • Collaborate with team assistants supporting the General Counsel’s direct reports.
    • Provide administrative support and assist with onboarding new staff.
    • Work closely with the Legal Manager to promote Upstream integration.
  5. Safety and Confidentiality:
    • Serve as the health and safety representative, attend safety meetings, and coordinate safety training.
    • Handle sensitive information confidentially, maintaining professionalism.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of Matric with English as a first or second language.
  • Computer literate with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with the structure and operations of the Anglo American Group in South Africa.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional administrative skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work to deadlines, and implement efficient work practices.
  • Familiarity with Power BI reporting, Egencia, and SAP is an advantage.
