Are you looking for an exciting opportunity in the chemical plant operations field? AECI Plant Health has an opening for a Plant Operator specializing in Filter Press operations for Calcium and Magnesium Nitrate production at our Modderfontein site in Gauteng, South Africa.

Job Description:

As a Plant Operator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of our filter press system. Your responsibilities will include:

• Setting up the filter press according to established procedures.
• Pumping solutions from the intermediate tank to the filter press.
• Monitoring flow through the filter press and adjusting density as necessary.
• Ensuring the cleanliness of the filter press according to procedures.
• Taking samples for laboratory analysis.
• Keeping the plant tidy and reporting any equipment issues promptly.
• Assisting with stock takes when required.
• Undertaking ad hoc tasks directed by management.
• Driving a forklift and maintaining medical fitness for license renewal.
• Completing mandatory checklists and log sheets.

Qualifications & Experience:

To qualify for this position, you should possess:

• Matric / Grade 12 qualification.
• Diploma or Certificate in chemical plant operations would be advantageous.
• Minimum of 1-year experience in production and/or chemical plant operations.
• Valid forklift driver’s license and ability to drive a forklift.
• Basic computer literacy skills.
• Knowledge of SHEQ Management Systems standards/requirements would be advantageous.
