Responsibilities:
• Lead the Packing and Despatch team to be empowered and engaged towards organisational goals.
• Managing packing of cementitious products to market demand and meeting production quality targets.
• Managing packing, warehouse, despatching and logistics of bulk and palletised cementitious production to clients’ depots.
• Administration and product packing and despatching information reporting.
• Recruiting and managing people to achieve high levels of competence and alignment with organisational values and objectives.
• Identify, lead, contribute and execute continuous improvement activities.
• Manage and and control departmental cost within budget expectations.
• Initiate, maintain and execute work duties in accordance with company policy, procedures, work instructions and risk management system standards which includes all statutory duties e.g. rail safety.
Experience and Qualifications:
• Grade 12 Senior Certificate with National Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management coupled with production management, Logistics or Warehouse Management modules.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in production, despatch and logistical management in cement or similar industry.
• Engineering and people management experience, as well as ISO management and auditing systems experience.
• Business knowledge and experience.
• Proven management experience and demonstrated ability to work with others and provides effective leadership in a collaborative environment and team oriented.
• Code 08 driver’s license.
Skills and Knowledge:
• Solid knowledge of process equipment
• Control systems and maintenance of equipment
• Good knowledge of cement markets and products
• Knowledge of health, safety, environmental and quality risks identification and expert planning and organising skills as well as sound computer skills in MS Office
