Responsibilities:
• Transport of Material, equipment and persons to and from levels or surface as required.
• Maintains ‘Zero tolerance’ levels throughout task
• Completes pre-start and daily maintenance checks on equipment and safety devices at each station before commencing work.
• Reports, repairs or replaces sub-standard components.
• Maintains equipment and accessories to required standards.
• Diverts required material cars and hoppers from material way to station area.
• Obtains shaft delivery schedule and takes crew to required station
• Signals clearance and controls arrival of cars
• Removes cars from material way to station area
• Ensures adherence to procedures for sensitive materials
• Controls administration of task
Requirements:
• Hold a valid Grade 10 Certificate or equivalent qualification
• Be in possession of a valid Onsetters’ Certificate
• Have at least one year experience at Operational Vertical Shaft
• Have the necessary experience as an Onsetter/ Banksman
• Have sound knowledge of Shaft Operations
• Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Centre
