To co-ordinate the daily production schedule ensuring the completion of filling and processing functions, whilst considering short term constraints from a resourcing capability perspective within the plant; and ensuring raw & pack materials availability to mitigate any milk losses and out of stock risk to the business. Responsible for the management of short and medium term milk and cream planning and ensuring that milk & cream levels are within the correct band.
Factory Planning
Co-ordinate and manage the short term (2 week) schedule for the factory, i.e.
Filling plan
Processing plan
All relevant constraints in the factory to be considered during planning cycles (i.e. filling capacities, resource outputs, raw & pack availability)
• Balancing upstream processing to ensure capacity utilization is optimal
• Responsible for integrity of the scheduling tool from Barnton
• Updating the daily plans to ensure accuracy into the SAP / ERP system, required for execution, re-planning as well as procurement planning
• Daily re-balancing the plan based on actual production execution
• Releasing daily shop orders to the filling as well as the processing departments to ensure continuity of plant operation
• KPI reporting for plant TOP Team: running daily / weekly / monthly production service level (PSL) reports (plan vs actual)
• Being the key contact between planning and industrial
• Managing and maintaining the scheduling models to reflect the material (new / obsolete items) and production (industrial changes) realities
• Management of the relevant production versions (PV’s) with respect to recipe & resource selection (e.g. recon recipes)
Milk Planning

Planning
• Responsible for the management of short- and medium-term milk and cream planning and ensuring that milk & cream are within the correct levels.
• Responsible for monthly cream reconciliations.
• Managing plant SMP (Skim Milk Powder) levels using the short term milk balancing strategies and communicating;
• required call-offs from offsite storage with the logistics and stores teams
• required call-offs from the supplier with the procurement planning team (operational buyers)
• Maintain master data management of milk forecasting tool.
• Monitor the gaps between the demand forecast and supply forecast while analyzing and identifying potential areas of improvement
• Lead the weekly and monthly milk demand planning forums to enable a synchronized weekly and monthly milk demand plan using developed milk balancing strategies.
Reporting
• Communicate multiple horizon scenarios to enable internal decision making on milk and cream when there are excesses or shortages.
• Communicating SMP requirements to SSD to assist with long term SMP buying decisions within the long term inventory (working capital) targets
• Ensure regular communication of all forecasts to senior managers.
• Ensure accuracy and timely information provided to SSD prior to GPS meetings
Stakeholder Engagement
• Build and maintain critical cross functional working relationship within and between SSD, supply planning and industrial teams
• Alignment with SSD and Finance departments with regard to Rolling Forecast reporting for budget purposes with regard to milk
• Alignment with Finance with regard to the impact of SMP on inventory (working capital impact)
• Manage and coordinate relationship between Danone and Cream customers
• Proactively identifying and communicating any milk supply risks that could impact business performance
• Contribute actively to company projects and project teams
Requirements:
• Supply chain / production qualification, or relevant industry experience
• Completed CPIM or APICS will be an advantage
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in supply chain
• Previous experience in Planning would be an added advantage
• Previous working experience in manufacturing
• Previous experience with SAP is an advantage
• Advanced Excel skills
