As a Switchboard Intern you will be answering incoming calls, greeting callers, providing information to internal and external clients, transferring calls to the relevant parties and/or taking messages as necessary.
Responsibilities:
• Professional switchboard operation
• Swift and friendly answering and accurate transferring of incoming calls. (Monitored by DD reports)
• Switchboard maintenance communication and procedure
• Immediate communication of any occurring errors, “hanging of the switchboard” or complaints received to the ICT Helpdesk and Line Manager (Priority action)
• Reception of internal and external public
• Professional acknowledgement of guests, clients, service providers, staff and general public accompanied by swift transfer to relevant BKB staff
• Maintenance of reception, switchboard, workstation and pause areas
• Responsible for orderly, clutter free and friendly reception, switchboard, workstation and pause areas
• General administration / help function duties
• Receive and allocate BKB Head Office official fax line. Absolute confidentiality
Requirements:
• Matric (Grade 12)
• 1-2 years’ work experience
• Client Liaison experience
• Excellent people and communication skills
• Computer Literacy
• Administration skills
• Professional appearance and personal demeanour
