Job Description

RCL Foods, a leading food services company in South Africa, is proud to announce the launch of their Baking Learnership Program in Pretoria West, Gauteng. The program is designed to provide dynamic and motivated students with the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience and training in the baking industry, while also earning a formal Qualification that is endorsed by SAQA.

The Baking Learnership Program will run for a period of 12 – 18 months and will include a mentorship and coaching program that covers the entire baking process. This is a SETA accredited learnership, which means that successful candidates will receive a formal qualification that is recognized by the South African Qualifications Authority.

During the program, learners will be exposed to practical work that is required by RCL Foods and the SETA for the duration of the qualification. They will also be trained by experts at the Supreme Siyabhaka Academy, which is dedicated to nurturing and developing the skills of individual learners, creating employable young professionals who are desperately needed in the baking industry.

The Supreme Siyabhaka Academy also aims to grow awareness of RCL Foods’ baking brands as brands of excellence and consistency, associated with ‘best-in-class’ skills, service and product. Additionally, it aims to lead the industry by raising the standard of in-store and professional bakery product across the board, changing consumer perceptions and strengthening customer relationships.

To be eligible for the Baking Learnership Program, applicants must have a Grade 12 qualification with hospitality studies and maths (Lit). Being computer literate (MS Office) is advantageous, but not essential. Candidates must also show drive to achieve performance, be willing to learn and grow, and have a creative, lateral thinking and problem-solving approach.
