Position Overview: Panel Assembler

As a Panel Assembler at ABB, you will play a crucial role in the Electrification business area for the Distribution Solutions division. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Meeting Targets: Achieve daily and weekly targets set by the supervisor.
  2. Quality Assurance: Ensure all mechanical assemblies conform to specified requirements, maintaining a high standard of quality in the production process.
  3. Safety and Compliance: Maintain the highest standards of Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) within the department.
  4. Collaboration: Maintain close liaison with the supervisor and fellow colleagues for effective teamwork.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • N3 in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in fitting or assembly.
  • Experience in the assembly of Unigear Switchgear is advantageous.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding mechanical and general arrangement drawings and single line diagrams.
  • Ability to set up and apply torque settings as per specifications.
  • Interpretation of current transformer and voltage transformer ratios.
  • Willingness to work night shifts.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to work under pressure, and use initiative.
