The Role
As a Field Technician, your primary responsibility will be to deliver exceptional on-site technical support and services to our clients. Skills and Experience
What You’ll Do:
- Receive technical instructions from the Technical Manager and execute tasks efficiently.
- Perform a range of technical tasks, including cable laying, splicing, repairs, and installations of network points and warehouse equipment.
- Conduct Site Surveys and provide technical assistance for printer scanner infrastructures.
- Plan and execute fixed SLA PMIs, provide necessary sign-offs, documentation, and updates.
- Be available for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-line technical support for fault callouts, including after-hours standby.
- Identify on-site sales opportunities and collaborate with the team for network upgrades.
- Maintain communication, feedback, and documentation for completed jobs and problem areas.
- Ensure neatness and organization of the storeroom, assist in packing equipment, and perform regular stock monitoring.
- Test and configure new radios, troubleshoot faulty radio and warehouse equipment.
- Respond to emails, acknowledge and close off logged calls/faults.
Your Expertise:
- Network cabling installation experience, including troubleshooting and repairs.
- Effective communication skills with customers.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Basic knowledge and experience with camera installations, audio and visual installations, barcode printers, and scanners.
- Computer literacy for basic troubleshooting and communication.
- Ability to direct a team/person under your control.
Qualifications Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or degrees are a plus.
- Competence with Microsoft Office core applications.
- IT Technical Support Experience (required).
Personal Attributes/Soft Skills Required:
- Dynamic, self-motivated, and organized.
- Well-presented with good communication skills.
- IT Experience within Logistics, Mining, or Manufacturing industries preferred.
- Ability to do physical installations of hardware.
- Ability to work within a team and oversee project deployment.
