VACANCY: OPERATOR MINTED BAR (x2)
TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT: FIXED TERM CONTRACT (12 MONTHS)
GRADE: B-LOWER
DIVISION: FABRICATION
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The purpose of this role is to contribute to the effective manufacturing process of both Small bar plant and Bar casting in producing all cast bars from 100g to 12.50kg and to ensure quality and safety standards at all times.
Meeting orders on time, at the right quality and in the right quantity.
The role encompasses activities in both small bar plant and bar casting and for both gold and silver metal
Expected to work overtime, shifts and be flexible as per production demand (as stated in the employment contract).
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCIES
Production of all denominations of minted bars according to quality and customer/regulatory requirements
Cleaning and grinding to mass of bars in blank or minted form while maintaining acceptable QC tolerances.
Sticking labels on to cards, housekeeping, and checking seals on certicards after sealing
Always wear the correct PPE and ensure that SHEQ procedures are strictly followed and advise team members accordingly
Always maintain good housekeeping in the area.
Work efficiently within the team and be able to rotate jobs and equipment upon request.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
Preference will be given to a candidate with a completed matric certificate or equivalent.
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
Computer literacy- SAP and MS office and internet.
Computer literate (Word, Excel, Email, SAP
Safety, health and quality
Processes and procedure applicable to role performed under the guidance of a supervisor, Foreman or Manager
Industrial manufacturing process knowledge and understanding of how the manufacturing procedures operate.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Preference will be given to a candidate with 3 years operational experience.

Basic task for cleaning and preparing blank bar and minted bar for QC inspection for compliance on mass and physical appearance – Know when the conditions are correct for these processes
SHEQ and first aid knowledge – Able to work safely for self and others
Quality knowledge – Able to produce quality products
Supply chain knowledge – Understand the steps in the supply chain of producing minted bars and sending to FSD
