Job Description
PRODUCTION/PLANNING/PURCHASING MEETING:
• Communicating with Planning to discuss any changes in the production plan of which the customer should be informed.
• Communicating with Production Team to ensure that plan is well executed, and all shortages are discussed.
• Daily meetings with the Production Personnel to discuss the daily/weekly plan and current stand of production.
• Daily meeting with the QC Lab Manager, Supervisor and QA Pharmacist to discuss Finished products.
• Ensures that goods manufactured are produced in a cost-effective way that meets quality specifications.
• Makes sure that good are ready to distribute to customers in a timely fashion.
• Improves company’s production and distribution processes.
• Ensures the production and distribution of products runs smoothly.
• Approves material, costs, manufacturing equipment, and the size of workforce needed to manufacture goods.
• Predicts how long it will take to complete.
• Monitor production and raw material costs.
• Collects and assesses data about the production and team’s performance.
• Prepare reports about production processes for Management and suggests ways to improve efficiency.
PRODUCTION:
• Weekly review of Production Plans with Production Team with Emphasis on GMP, Good Housekeeping, Efficiency, Productivity and Achievement of Plan
COSTING/INVENTORY:
• Review of New Business / Project Costing.
• Annual Review of Costing for existing products.
• Approving Job Status Reports to enable Inventory Clerk to Close Jobs.
MATERIAL MANAGEMENT:
• Monthly review of Batches required for production.
• Ensure that the Warehouse Manager and Finished Goods Controller are controlling the efficiency and productivity of the subordinates with particular emphasis on GMP.
• Good Housekeeping.
• Adherence to Warehouse Procedures.
• Syspro Compliance i.e. Information on Syspro is always current and up to date.
• Cycle counts.
• Annual stock counts.
GENERAL:
• Drafting of Job descriptions and ensuring that Performance Appraisals are complete.
• Conducting Interviews.
• To meet with existing and prospective new customers to discuss production issues and to maintain a professional and open relationship.
• Assisting with any planned facility or production upgrades.
• Working in close relation with the Production Team to ensure that productivity is reviewed, monitored and that trouble shooting is performed.
• Always reviewing manufacturing and packing methods with Production Team to ensure that quality and productivity are of the highest standard and to update production to stay up to date with new and innovative methods.
• Meeting with customers on new products, product technology transfers, trouble shooting production procedures and validation.
PLANNER:
• Monthly Review of Order book with Planner Liaison manager to check reasonability of information provided.
• Monthly review of Demand with Customer Liaison Manager and relevant customer’s.
• Requirements sent to Purchasing Manager and Buyers to check for material availability.
• Once material availability is confirmed, monthly production requirements are then sent to the production managers.
• Production Manager plan requirements into weekly buckets, which is then reviewed and confirmed with the GMO.

Inherent Requirements
• Grade 12
• Substantial experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing process
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel
• Knowledge of Syspro
