Role purpose:
• Spares Parts Store Supervisor is responsible for the safekeeping of stock located within the engineering stores.
• Controls and monitors the movement of all inventory items and ensures that inventory items are available when required.
• Manages spare part activities/procedures to ensure availability of parts at optimum cost and level CMMS (SAP).
Responsibilities:
Safety, Food & sustainability
• Compliance with legal and procedures in the area of health, safety and the environment.
• Ensures all execution of technical work is carried out in a safe way.
• Ensuring all safety rules and safe work procedures are followed by him/herself and by others working in and around the work area.
• Reports Near Misses, Unsafe conditions and unsafe behaviours observed within and outside work area.
• Participation in periodic hazards identification and detailed risk assessment in work area as applicable.
• Participation in safety events(incidents, accidents etc.) investigation in work area.
Stock Management
• Handling and disposition of inventory items and keeping warehouse inventory current, accurate and in line with approved stock levels.
• Maintains the inventory control system for the stores.
• Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees.
• Carry out verification of spare part supplied to ascertain the quality and quantity randomly.
• Carry out sample verification of spare part issued by subordinates to ensure adherence to issuing procedure and standard
• Ensure availability of spare parts to support production while at the same time gets involved in a reduction of obsolete spares in the system with maintenance engineers
• Creates PID’s for new spares and stock counts
• Carry out regular cycle and wall-to-wall stock counts
Organization, Interfaces & People Management
• Reports to the Maintenance manager
• Coordinates and cooperates with the Maintenance planner and Spare parts Clerk.
• Ensures proper spare segmentation and proper MRP-settings are in place
• Align with the work planned, e.g. overhauls/shutdowns
• Coordination and alignment regarding handovers between the spare parts clerk; both from handing over to execution and/or receiving returned materials from execution team.
TPM & Continuous Improvement
• Executes 5S spare parts / lubricants and storage (maintain proper storage conditions).
• Manages SPM Sroute to deliver step 0 – 5 in the TPM process
Information & Data Management
• Uses the MRP data inconjuction with SPC and ME and ensures the settings are up to date.
• Identifies & codes of spares according to proper asset structure in SAP.
• Uses the spare segmentation data inconjuction with SPC and ensures it is up to date.
Personal Attributes:
• 5S & good housekeeping.
• Ability to execute and report on cycle counting.
• Ability to use MRP and/or work with MRP system.
• Ability to work overtime when required.
• Able to support (from the spare parts store) during breakdown/emergency stock take conditions.
Requirements:
• Applicable Inventory/Operations/Warehouse management qualification preferably a National Diploma or Degree or studying towards one
• 3 – 5 Years
