An excellent opportunity exists for a reliable and experienced individual to fulfil the role of Millwright in the Central Maintenance Section based at the Middledrift Transfer Scheme site. Reporting to the Transfer Pump Station Supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible for the provision of first line mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs service to plant and equipment.

Responsibilities:
• Ensure that preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance is executed in all mechanical and electrical equipment;
• Ensure that the Middledrift installations comply with Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety requirements;
• Carry out regular repairs to plant and equipment;
• Perform supervisory duties associated with Maintenance staff allocated to the site.
• Carry out pipeline inspections on a regular basis.
• Maintain low and high tension gear as prescribed in the maintenance schedule.

Requirements:
• Minimum of N3 or Matric/Grade 12.
• The incumbent must be a Trade Tested Millwright.
• Minimum of three years’ industrial experience obtained after obtaining the trade test.
• Good Knowledge and fault finding skills on pumps, motors, electrical control circuits, pipe systems, valve systems and switching on low and high tension gear.
• A good command of IsiZulu and English.
• Ability to work remotely and under pressure as and when required.
• A valid driver’s licence, minimum of Code 08.
• Basic Computer Literacy.
• Must be physically fit and be prepared to safely carry and work on heavy equipment.
• Essential competencies: problem solving, interpersonal skills, teamwork and co-operation, communication skills, and SHEQ Awareness.
• The Incumbent will be required to reside in Nkandla/Middledrift area and be prepared to travel in our area of operations, to work standby and overtime as and when necessary.
