Bidvest International Logistics is looking to hire an Inventory clerk who is skilled and has the knowledge to keep track of the goods and supplies in the warehouse and manages orders to facilitate production. The duties will include signing off on shipments, counting the number of available products and placing orders for more inventory according to demand. Furthermore, liaising with management and taking orders from the line manager.

Responsibilities:
• Warehouse Activities
• Compile the MB52 report, (CW1 vs SAP) and batch accuracy
• Send all the QD05s to the quality control team weekly
• Ensure cancelled order are receipted back into the system and accordingly relocated to correct bins
• Liaise with operations on a daily basis, ensuring plans and customer requirements are met regarding stock related queries
• Perform any other functions/task outside the job description, reasonably required by the operation
• Verify the completeness and accuracy of information on the documents
• Investigate and effect correction where necessary
• File documentation in appropriate accurately identified files and assist admin controller
• Distribute required reports to internal and external clients
• Ensure that all scheduled tasks for the day are completed prior to leaving
• Ensure all bins visited are Cycle counted to ensure stock Accuracy
• Ensure to Count all areas under BIL control as per SLA and KPI requirements
• Ensure daily stock receipted and binned is confirmed in the WMS systems correctly
• Ensure all daily receipts are Quality Checked ensuring 100% correctness prior to binning
• Expedite any urgent materials to the bins to ensure the stock is available soonest for production
• Inspect cargo counted for damages and report if necessary
• Bin cargo using hand held scanners after ensuring the labels on stock correlate to the actual material received
• Ensure that the daily exception report is checked to ensure all receipts were binned as planned
• Rectify any mistakes and highlight these to the receiving team as and when required
• Assist with securing cargo by strapping and shrink-wrapping where necessary for safe storage
• Report any discrepancies and theft to the team leader/facility manager
• Safely operate reach truck and forklift as and when required
• Ensure that handling of all client stock is done with reasonable care
• Ensure that all scheduled daily tasks are completed prior to leaving
• Ensure that all cargo is handled in terms of MSDS requirements prior to binning
• Ensure that all generated documents correlate to the receipted loads at all times
• Quality check all receipted cargo for accuracy and correctness against system generated documents
• Always complete any operational documents with a Name. Signature, Date and Time stamp
• Help in other departments within the team when your area of responsibility is not busy to alleviate pressure

General Operational Duties:
• Report any abnormalities /defects in the warehouse
• Ensure that goods are correctly and safely transported/loaded (Haz Classes and Stock Classification)
• Report all damages, negligence and theft immediately to the team leader
• Comply with safety regulations when operating handling equipment during the transport of cargo
• Operate any counter balance forklift up to 3.5 tons
• Ensure that handling equipment checklists are completed and signed off
• Ensure that safety devices are operational on all handling equipment
• Perform other functions or tasks outside the job description that is deemed reasonable by you and the team leader
• Ensure that all scheduled tasks for the day is completed, prior to leaving
• Ensure that the warehouse conforms to excellent house keeping (5S)
• Ensure desks are clean at all times. All BIL Documentation to be placed into respective Trays
• Any Chemical/material spills to be reported to SHEQ and cleaned up in accordance with procedures on MSDS

General:
• Ensure a clear understanding of the companies SOP’s as well as policies
• Report any non conformances to Facility Manager
• Ensure that near misses are completed and escalated to management
• Involvement and participation in BIL WAREHOUSING EC as well as the compliance to OSH Act
• In care of clients cargo as well as company assets at all times
• Always ensure that you, and visitors have the correct PPE to be worn at all times and used in the correct manner
• Dress code must be professional at all times as we operate from the clients premises
• Attend Daily/Weekly Blue Area Talks – Staff Meetings
• Adherence to Client policies, procedures and SHEQ Requirements

Requirements:
• Minimum matric level of education.
• Must be able to read and write English.
• Experience within a cargo handling environment.
• Exposure to operational administration procedures.
• A basic knowledge of computers / scanning.
• Maintaining and upholding health and safety.
• 5 years of warehousing experience.
• Preferably forklift license.
