“Hello… an exciting new opportunity has just become available at the  Hollard Centre – Group Shared Services area. We are looking to recruit a Sourcing Specialist: Non-IT.

The Sourcing Specialist: Non-IT implements category strategies and plans for the cluster of categories they are responsible for across the Hollard Group supporting the Snr Sourcing Specialist, to meet group and business objectives.”

The role exists to:
• Assemble and lead cross-functional teams to deal with specific strategic sourcing projects
• Always bearing in mind the BU and Group’s short and medium term goals and objectives while seeking to balance that with always pursuing the best cost option for all deals concluded
• Forming the link between BU’s / OSU’s and any external parties e.g. vendors or providers
• Alignment with Group strategic initiatives such as Preferential Procurement objectives
• With a strong focus on enabling BU’s and OSU’s to operationalize category plans and strategies through setting category policies, procedures and leading the sourcing and negotiation processes
• The role also focusses on knowledge and skills transfer through providing guidance and support to the Junior Category Management & Sourcing Specialists.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain Category Demand Plans that will meet purchasing customer service goals, corporate profit goals and return on equity goals
• Develop and implementation of Category Strategies
• Develop and implement Category Pricing & Management Approach
• Implement Category Policies & Group Agreements to ensure quality, delivery and cost improvements including KPI’s, scorecards etc
• Working with the Snr Sourcing Specialist to lead both internal and external stakeholders in Sourcing, • Negotiation and Contracting Management processes. This includes negotiating short-, medium- or long-term contracts and is accountable for measuring performance to and administering compliance of contract terms and conditions. Coordinates with Legal to develop appropriate business terms and conditions for supply agreements and ensures adherence to corporate policy
• On-going review of supplier contracts and remediate with latest Terms & Conditions, promoting Hollard templates
• Together with the Snr Sourcing Specialist sourcing savings against category budgets
• Implementation of the above through monitoring performance against goals, analyzes results, and initiates appropriate action for the BU’s/OSU’s to assist them to meet their business objectives
• Enable implementation of outcomes from reports for the categories in their cluster (including BEE, • Spend analysis and Business As Usual (BAU)
• Implement all resolutions passed by the Bid Committee, Procurement/Transformation Steeco’s
• Update and/or report-on any associated Risks to mitigate Hollard’s exposure on procurement and related matters
• May be required to perform other duties as instructed from time-to-time by immediate superior
• Will be responsible to manage NCP: Non-IT managed commodities i.e Travel Management, Stationery, Professional Services etc
• Utilising of Procurement, Service Desk, BI, Compliance systems etc
• Promoting and maintaining Stakeholder relationships (Internal (BU’s/OSU’s) and External)

Requirements:
• 3-5 years of experience in a Procurement Specialist role in a similar organisation.
• Must be self-motivated with enthusiasm and strong drive for results
• Strong team and collaborative leadership
• Experienced professional who can withstand the pressure of non-biased decision making
• Highest standards of ethical practice and integrity
• Ability to develop and implement a well-thought-out sourcing strategy
• Excellent Project Management and cross-functional team leadership skills
• Experience in Strategic Sourcing Analysis and implementation
• Experience in creation, negotiation, and administration of contracts
• Strong analytical, research and negotiation skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at any level
• Ability to drive aggressive implementation plans and schedules
• Must be able to problem solve and handle multiple tasks effectively
• Experience with MS Office applications: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project Management
• Matric is compulsory
• Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement etc is compulsory
• Post-graduate studies in Procurement, Legal or related subjects will be an added advantage
